Is this part, we will work on WebSphere architecture. This is an overview of the history of WebSphere Application Server architecture and the most recent release WebSphere Application Server. This overview focuses those areas critical to the WebSphere system engineer not all the features or new features. We focus on WebSphere architecture and new features of the current release. This part will include the following topics. A picture is better than a thousand words, especially for architectural discussions. Therefore, we will include architectural diagrams.
- A historical review of WAS architecture changes from WAS 4.0 with system architecture. We will use diagrams for illustration. We outline point out the major progress from each lease concisely.
- WAS 4 uses a database to store configuration data
- WAS 5 uses a XML to store configuration data
- An introduction of WAS 8.5 system architecture and key progress against 7
- An introduction of each major WAS 8.5 system component (within WAS 8.5)
- An introduction of the typical design patterns with loan balancers, web servers, DB, and interconnected systems through messaging systems and web services
- A short summary that provides insight to WAS future releases and trends
