It feels like yesterday,
When I first came to the Gateway.
Alas, the might of Chronos,
The day has come to sail away.
The golden willows
Like young brides in the setting sun.
Their reflections on West Trade,
Will always linger in my mind.
That water fountain by the shade of myrtle,
Holds not water but the rainbow from the sky.
Shattered into pieces by the fast falling pearls,
Is that the sediment of dream, if I aspire?
To seek a dream? My 10 years' search at the bank,
Now I leave as gently as I can.
Since the star of hope continues to shine,
Should I sing aloud a song to say good bye?
But I cannot make a note.
Silence is my departure.
To those I do not want to leave,
Silent is the Gateway tonight!
Transient is life where the constant is change.
What stays is the work that people share.
Quietly I bid farewell,
To all the teammates whom I leave behind.
