My New Book - WebSphere Engineering

Companies depend on the IBM WebSphere platform to deliver their most critical web applications and services, and to provide the foundation for Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). To deliver on the promise of WebSphere technologies, organizations need to implement a comprehensive, integrated set of best practices for managing WebSphere infrastructure.

After three years of working on it, finally I am getting close to finishing the book (12/28): "WbSphere Engineering - A Practical Guide for WebSphere Support Managers and Senior Consultants". This book presents those best practices and explains how to make the most of them. Drawing on my considerable real-world experience and insights of 16 years of industry practice, the book shows exactly how to maximize the WebSphere platform's reliability, stability, scalability, and performance in large-scale production environments. WebSphere practitioners will find very experienced discussions of each option and strategy for managing WebSphere, including practical guidance on making the right tradeoffs for their environments. Coverage includes: building the right engineering support team; establishing the right processes and tasks; managing code migration, testing, and software upgrades; establishing enterprise architecture; planning capacity; preparing for large interconnected systems; and much more. Simply put, this book brings together all the trustworthy information WebSphere practitioners need to run their WebSphere infrastructure effectively - and maximize its business value. Please let me know what you think, especially if you have any questions about the book.
